The Reality of GM Crops in the Ground and on our Plates by the Canadian Biotechnology Action Network (cban) will give you a great start. It has a wealth of information on GM food and other areas as follows:

  • Learn more about GM foods imported from Canada’s major trading partners such as the US;
  • Get to understand the genetically engineered (GE) traits – herbicide tolerance, insect resistance, virus resistance, and drought tolerance;
  • Get to know what GM crops and foods are on the market and what are not on the market such as GM tomatoes, GM rice, GM wheat, GM potatoes, GM pigs, GM flax, GM fish and GM apples;
  • Learn more about the Canadian Biotechnology Action Network (cban) which is a project of Tides Canada Initiatives;
  • Learn more about food sovereignty and environmental justice;
  • Get to understand what is the GMO Inquiry 2015 project by cban;
  • Become aware about genetic engineering in food and farming;
  • Learn how the GMO Inquiry 2015 team investigates what GM crops are grown in Canada and around the world;
  • Get information about the four (4) GM crops grown in Canada – canola, corn, soy, and sugar beet, and the GM foods imported into Canada such as cottonseed oil, papaya, squash and mik products;
